There are approximately 10 million colours to choose from, so who decides what colour to choose for the next colour of the year? So without further ado, here is a list of tops North American companies and what colours they chose for 2020 Colour of the year.



Top 2020 Colour of the Year Colours That We Love





With this shade of green, Behr was inspired to bring colours from outdoors and bring them indoors. On their official website, Behr has the tagline for this colour reading, "As we enter the next decade, we strive for vibrancy in life and shape it how we choose. As nature’s favourite colour, Back to Nature is a restorative and revitalizing green hue that engages the senses and pairs well with other colours both inside and outside your home." This has a great calming vibe to it and would love it see it more often.






The great thing about "Back To Nature" is, it would pairs very well with other hues from nature like brown, blue, or beige to give you that illusion of that quiet, peaceful, great outdoors in a room you just go to relax in.




 




The most anticipated company, Pantone has released their Colour of the year "classic blue" and since then has gained fans from all over the world. This blue goes great with just about anything. Its elegance is undeniable, while being sharp and simple.

A New Era

The company announced its first-ever color of the year, Cerulean, in 1999, and the world eagerly awaited their colour of the year ever since. According to Pantones official website - "Classic Blue highlight our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era."





"For over 20 years, Pantones Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design."


 






This wonderful soft shade of pink by Benjamin Moore is called First Light 2102-70. It's soft, rosy hue blooming for potential. The perfect place for this lovely colour would be best in a natural well-lighted room, where you'll have guests you can showcase this soft colour with nice white accents or trim. But while that being said, this colour definitely does not go everywhere.

Does not go everywhere


While First Light is beautiful it's reviews state that it does not go everywhere. For this colour it's best time to shine are rooms that have crisp whites or off white trim and ceilings. If you use dark whites or even creme colours chances are it'll look like you made an awful mistake while leaving any potential for this colour gone.

Sherwin-Willians actually did a great job picking this colour, the overall stature of this rich Naval blue has a royal vibe and mixed with gold coloured trims or accents it will have you feeling like you're a king or queen. The next 10 years pave the way for wellness of the mind, body and soul – a clean palette for self-nurturance." Its definitely a great choice for your living room, dinning room or even kitchen.

Blue hues are actually helpful to the human body. Looking at the colour blue actually help suppress hunger, so if you're not in the restaurant business enjoy blue as much as you can! The colour blue is proven to help you stay calmer, and regulate your heartbeat and breathing.

According to Greek culture, the colour blue is said to ward off their ancient superstition of “the evil eye.” To put this in practice, some Greek people choose to wear a blue charm necklace or bracelet for protection.
